Undersheriff Dennis Garton started his law
enforcement
career in March of 1970 is a
37-year
law
enforcement veteran, having served the citizens of Tehama County since 1978 for
the past
29 years.
He assumed his current position in 1996, and as second-in-command of the department, his primary function is to oversee the day-to-day operations of the agency. As a secondary duty, Undersheriff Garton researches and develops new programs; such as the jail’s new computerized inmate management system.
Residing in Dairyville with wife Jeannie, Undersheriff Garton is an avid horseman and enjoys touring the western states on his motorcycle.
