WELCOME TO

THE TEHAMA COUNTY LIBRARY

 

Our Mission is to provide for the Informational, Educational and Recreational needs of the citizens of Tehama County and to serve as an archive for the rich historical resources of our area.

 

Welcome to our Website.  The information below will help you navigate through our pages.

You can view our Library Catalog (top right).  You may also request books and audio-visual materials online using a unique pin number by logging in to your Library Account (top right).  A pin number may be obtained by visiting your local library, presenting your library card and ID, and chosing a 4-digit code.

Please visit our library and browse through our various collections.  You will need a library card before you can check out materials or use the Public Computers.  Your card may be used at all three library branches.

On the right side of this home page, you will see several Links.  They will guide you to other websites with useful and interesting information, including city & county government, chambers of commerce, newspapers, and other libraries and schools.

Across the top and down the left side are our Main Menu items.

Home - This section has information about our library hours; how to sign up for a library card; the history of the library system; and, our contact information.

Library Branches - Our three branches are listed, with hours and a map link so you can locate us.

Library Services - The Library has many services available for both research and pleasure.  In addition to research materials and books for your reading pleasure, we also have music CD's, Book on CD and on Tape, Videos and DVD's, magazines and newspapers.   This section will explain how to access our online library catalog; how to sign up for a library card; and, what our loan periods are.  Our public computers offer online access to the World Wide Web as well as word processing programs and children's games.   

Childrens Services - Children's programs are offered year round, including a preschool story hour and our County-wide summer reading program.  Class visits can be scheduled through the Children's Librarian.  The Accelerated Reader website may be used to access titles recommended by area school.  Our Teen Corner is a new item and is still being developed.

Reference ServicesReference personnel are available during open-hours to help you find information or items.  The library contains many local historical & genealogical resources.  Reference volunteers are available at various times during the week to assist you with local history research.   Books and media may be requested from other branches within the library system.  Some items can be borrowed through our InterLibrary Loan system if we don't have them.    

Rules and Policies - Be sure to read our Circulation Check-out and Return policies.  You will also find information on our Fines & Fees; Computer policy; Behavior policy, Conference Room policy; and, Donation policy.

Databases - Currently, our only database is the Gale Research Database.  It includes the Chilton Automotive Library and several information databases for various ages.

March 31 - Bunco Bash.  Elk's Lodge. 700-9:30 p.m.

April 10 -Tehama Co Friends of the Library Book Sale  (Red Bluff)- Saturday only -  9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

April 14 - Cowboy Poetry - 7:00-9:00 p.m. - Tehama County Library (Red Bluff)

April 24 - Children's Fair - Fairgrounds 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
